How To Make A PIZZA PAN INTO A DOOR HANGER
Using just a pizza pan from Dollar Tree you too can have a super cute new door hanger for your home in little to no time! There are so many different ways you can change the color and look of a plain pizza pan by using paint or Modge Podge. You can even use paint to give you a crackle finish.
For today’s project, we are going for a traditional and classic look. So, instead of paint, we are using a product called Rub and Buff which can transform metal into a different color or sheen. The gold background will work perfectly for our classic Christmas vibe.
Our Deer door hanger is going to also have so many cute embellishments that are easy to find and very affordable! My favorite is adding a bit of white Sherpa fabric around the edge to give it a soft and cozy touch. Trust me on this! Using some faux-flocked garland and cute snowy pine cones is the perfect way to finish off this classic door hanger.

Christmas Deer Door Hanger
1 – Put your plastic gloves on to protect your hands from the rub and buff. Squeeze a little rub and buff onto your pizza pan and use a make-up sponge to apply an even coat. It will dry quickly so make sure you work fast.
2 – Use a paper towel to buff the gold color into your pizza pan. Do any touch-ups with more rub and buff as you continue to buff it in with your paper towel.
3 – Remove the cling from the paper and add some Modge Podge onto the back of the cling with a foam brush. Add the cling into the center of your pizza pan. Apply another layer of Modge Podge on the top to seal everything. Smooth out any bubbles with your fingers.
4 – Cut a strip of Sherpa that is wide enough to go around the rim of the pizza pan. Start hot gluing the Sherpa around the rim of the pan. Try to start and end the Sherpa on the top of the pan so the seam is easy to cover.
5 – Fold the excess over to the back and hot glue onto the back. The extra fabric will also prevent the hanger from banging against the door.
6 – Grab your green Christmas garland and cut four 6” pieces. Use a chip brush and some white paint to add a “faux flocked” look to your garland. Don’t forget to fluff the garland.
7 – Cluster two pieces of flocked garland and hot glue on the top of your hanger. Hot glue the other two pieces on the opposite side at the top.
8 – Take your mini pine cones and hot glue three into the center of the garland.
9 – Cut a length of red ribbon and fold over to make a simple bow with two loops and two tails. Tie the center off with a piece of jute. Cut a small strip of ribbon and hot glue over the jute on the center of the bow.
10 – Hot glue your bow on the center of your garland topper.
11 – Cut a long piece of jute and tie a knot at one end for your door hanger. String your wood beads in whatever pattern you’d like. I’m doing 4 natural wood beads then adding a touch of red. Continue for the entire length of the jute.
12 – Turn over your door hanger and hot glue the ends of your door hanger to the back. Cut a small piece of ribbon and hot glue over the end of the hanger also.
There you go a super cute and easy Christmas front door decor made out of a Dollar Tree pizza pan. I am in love and I know you will be too!!
