How to Make a Snowman Coffee Jar with A Cricut
Grab your old Tide Pod Container completely cleaned out so it is nice and sanitary. Then, spray paint a white coat on it, covering it completely. Let it dry. Tip* This helps with a good solid base.
2 – Grab a plate and add some Waverly Plaster color paint along with baking Soda. There is no ratio to this mixture. It forms a paste to add texture to your Frosty.
3 – Now add your paint to your Tide Pod Container using a paintbrush. Set aside to dry. Tip* Plaster is more off-white color. You can use a more bright white if you prefer. Save the plate of paint in case you need to add in missing spots once dry.
4 – Now for the steps of using your Cricut Machine. Measure your front of the Tide Pod container and open up Design Space to begin the steps to create Frosty’s face. Create a “Guide” of about 6 inches in an oval shape to easily fit in the image you like best from Design Space. Go to images and type in Snowman Face to find your favorite. Select and insert into your guide.
5 – Add “Registration Marks” to your design to save you ease later when applying your collar layers later. “Ungroup him”, and add however many stars you have per color on your selected design. I have 5 colors, so 5 stars. Sync your stars to your colors. Then align all of your stars to help you line up your layers on your vinyl. Tip* If this is ALLLLLL TOO MUCH, be sure to check out my Cricut Academy to give you more support when working with your Cricut Machine! It is a great investment and saves the headache of guessing how to use that magical machine for so many potential projects.
6 – Get your mats ready, add your Premium Vinyl, and begin cutting on your Cricket. Repeat with all of your colored layers for your Frosty’s face. Add your colors one by one on your mat as it cuts one section of your design at a time.
7 – Have your Cricut machine cut your design out. Begin weeding your image with your weeding tool. Be patient as you prep your design.
8 – Using your Registration Marks, begin adding your layers on top of one another with transfer tape. Add your vinyl stencil to the transfer tape using your flat-edge tool. Make sure it adheres completely. Tip* Always have your Design Space open as you craft to look back at your image throughout the crafting process.
9 – Remove your stars from your images once all layered. Add your transfer tape to your Tide Pod container, to attach your Frosty face with ease. Press firmly as you add your images. Carefully peel off to make sure all of your vinyl has adhered. Tip* Save your transfer tape as it can be used again and again.
10 – Once his face is complete, begin to add some Keurig Hot Cocoa Pods inside the precleaned Tide Pod container. Fill to the brim for easy Hot Cocoa Storage on your Hot Cocoa bar.
11 – Add an old beanie or winter hat to complete Frosty’s look. There you have it!

Y’all! I am one jolly, happy soul. I can’t stop smiling when I look at him. He is so stinking cute. And to think he came to life from an upcycled Tide Pod Container, complete with one of my old winter beanies (not an old top hat), and the added magic of my Cricut Machine.
I can’t wait for all of my friends and family to stop by my home this winter and visit while sharing some yummy hot cocoa.
What If I Do Not Have Cricut?
To my crafting friends without a Cricut, you can still get this look, no problem. You can paint Frosty’s face to make him extra cute. Use a template and trace it on there if you’re not the best at freehand. But, again, I love my Cricut so much, I would highly encourage you to get one.
