DIY Bunny Banner

I still have bunny buns on my mind! Why not add some more bunny love to your Spring decor with this cute DIY Bunny Banner. The fluffy cottontail and pop of polka-dots on the ears and feet are sure to bring a smile this Spring.

To add a little more to your spring decor this year be sure to add a new spring planter to give you that extra spring feeling inside your home.

DIY Bunny Banner Supplies:

  • 7 Wood Slices 2 ¼” diameter
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • 7 White Pom Poms or Cotton Balls
  • 14 Bunny Ears (Clip Art or using Cricut svg)
  • 14 Bunny Feet (Clip Art or using Cricut svg)
  • 1 Pink Foam Sheet
  • 1 White Foam Sheet
  • 1 Pink and White polka-dot Scrapbook paper
  • Mod Podge
  • 3 Coordinating Spring Fabrics Pieces
  • String or Jute

Tools needed for diy bunny banner:

  • Paint Brushes
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Hot Glue

Steps to make a diy bunny banner

Prepping your Banner is what you will start first for this easy DIY.

Step 1 – Paint your wood slices white. If you have a Cricut, you can use it to cut out bunny ears and bunny feet from your white and pink foam sheets. If not, you may search up bunny ears or bunny feet on Clip Art and print and cut them out.

Step 2 – Lay out your ears and feet so there are a pair for each wood slice. You can alternate using pink or white foam ears and feet if you’d like! Do the same to cut out bunny ears and bunny feet from your pink and white polka-dot paper, either using Clip Art or your Cricut.

Step 3 – Add Mod Podge onto a pair of foam bunny feet and bunny ears. Place your paper ears on to add some color. Repeat this step with each of your bunny feet and ears.

Step 4 – Take your fabrics and make a cut about an inch wide and rip through to the end, giving you 3 strips from each coordinating pattern.

That was easy right? Now it is time to assemble your banner together! Just follow the steps below!

Step 5 – Add a small dot of hot glue on the bottom of each of the ears and add them just behind the wood slice at the top. Make sure to not cover the hole in the wood.

Step 6 – Hot glue the bunny feet on the bottom of the wood slice. Add the white pom pom tail with hot glue in the center towards the bottom.

Step 7 – Repeat the same steps to put together each wood slice bunny bum.

Step 8 – Take your string and add a dot of hot glue to prevent raveling. Insert the string into the wood slice hole and slide it down. Continue to add each wood slice, leaving a few inches in between.

Step 9 – Next, we will place your fabric strips in between the bunny bums on your banner. Fold a strip of fabric in half and place the tails through the loop with the jute in the center. Pull it tight to secure.

Step 10 – Add a few coordinating fabric strips in between each slice throughout your banner.

Step 11- Hot glue the jute behind the ear at the top of each wood slice to allow the bunny bums to lay flat. Trim your fabric to the desired length and enjoy your bunny banner!

And we are done! I hope you enjoy displaying your DIY Bunny Banner this Easter as much as I will.
