STEPS TO CREATE YOUR DIY WINE GLASSES:

1 – To begin, clean your wine glasses with soap and water.

2 -.Then, with a bit of rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball, rub over your wine glasses to ensure there are no watermarks or spots. It also helps remove all of the sticky residues from price tags.

3 – Grab the poster sticker letter you want to apply to your glass, and cut it out from the main page. Tip* If you have a Cricut, use that instead to create a stencil. This is just a hack for those friends who do not have a Cricut.

4 –  With that sticker cut out, remove the actual sticker letter setting aside, leaving you just the outlined section. Carefully remove that from the backing as well. Tip* Save those sticker letters for another project by placing them back in their original packaging.

5 – Apply that piece to your wine glass in the center. Press down firmly. This now creates your stencil.

6 -.Grab some blue painter’s tape and outline the stencil to give yourself a fatter edge to work with when you will apply the Armor Etch.

7 – Repeat on all of the wine glasses you will be etching. Tip* Remember to do the initials of whoever is getting the gift.

8 – Grab your Armor Etch and pour out a little amount on a coffee filter or plate. Tip* Do this project in a well-ventilated room, as this product has a strong odor.

9 – With gloves on your hand, grab your foam sponge brush and simply dab on a good amount of etching cream inside your letter stencil. Be sure to lather it on nice and thick. Tip* The painter’s tape helps it stay only in the lettered stencil section.

10 – To add some fun flair, use a small sponge to create polka dots around the glasses. Tip* If you want to add any line designs, use electric tape on your glasses to serve as a stencil. Etch using the same steps as above.

11 – Throw your small sponge away because the Armor Etch will not wash out well.

12 – When done etching, let your glasses sit for 5 minutes. Tip* You could even hop down to the directions below to make your wine bags while you wait and then pop back up to complete!

13 – Once your glasses have sat for a while, to make sure they have completely cured, go and wash them with soap and water. Be sure to give them a good scrub as you are removing all of the tape, etching cream, and sticker residue.

14 – So simple and so special!

STEPS TO CREATE YOUR DIY WINE BAG:

1 – Print your Christmas printable and cut them out with scissors, or use a Cricut if you have one.

2 – Layout your fat fabric quarter out flat. Place your printable on top and cut out a rectangle to shape around it, so it is easy to work with. Pin your paper in place on fabric and carefully cut out your design using fabric scissors.

3 – If your fabric is not printed on both sides, simply trace your printable and cut it out. Repeat steps to add fabric designs for as many bags as you are creating. Tip* Use stencils, cookie cutters, stamps, or any other ideas to decorate your jute bags if you prefer. Be creative and have fun with it.

4 – Grab some Sherpa fabric to enhance your mitten cut-out. Cut out a tiny section. Set aside.

5 – Grab your fusible web and cut out the same design printable to place under your fabric. This will fuse your design to your jute wine bag. Be sure your fusible web is the same size as your fabric.

6 – Place your fusible web down first, fabric next, and with an iron apply heat to help it fuse. Pay attention to placement on your bag keeping in mind your wine bottle will cause your bag to scrunch up when placed inside. Tip* Do not use hot glue because it will be bumpy. If you use spray adhesive, insert a piece of cardboard into your jute bag so the bag doesn’t stick together.

7 – Use fusible web, hot glue, or tite bond to adhere your Sherpa material to your fabric mitten design adding a bit of fun to your bag.

8 – Optional Steps: Add some craft beads or jingle bells to your jute bag ties to add some fancy touches by weaving them through the center hole. Tie to hold in place on end. Personalize the bag with names written on there, add ribbons, etc. Have fun with it and I promise, you still are not spending a lot of money on this simple, classy DIY wine gift!
