Supplies needed to make your DIY dollar tree Pumpkin Decor

  • 3 Pizza Pans from Dollar Tree
  • 3 sheets of fall colored 12×12” Scrapbook Sheets
  • Mod Podge
  • Fall Pictures from a Calendar
  • Buffalo Check Wooden Craft Beads
  • Natural Wooden Craft Beads
  • Jute
  • Moss Waverly Chalk Paint
  • Scrap Wood Sticks or Branches for Stem
  • Spanish Moss
  • Coordinating Fall 2” Wired Ribbon
  • Orange Raffia
  • Green Mesh Ribbon
  • Orange Pom-Pom Ribbon
  • Craft Rotary Circle Cutter
  • Large Eye Sewing Needle
  • Paint Brushes
  • Box Cutter
  • Glue Gun
  • Spray Adhesive
  • Sanding Sponge
  • EZ Bow Maker
  • Zip Ties
  • Puppy Pads

Steps:

Brush Mod Podge onto the back of the pizza pans. Use your heat gun to help dry the Mod Podge.

Apply your scrapbook sheet and smooth it out with an iron. Trim the excess paper from your pan with a box cutter. Continue with each pizza pan.

Use your sanding tool to remove any extra paper around the edge.

Pick your fall picture from an old calendar and measure the back of your pizza pan. Use your scissors or circle craft cutter to cut a circle of your calendar print making sure to leave a small border of scrapbook paper.

Spray some spray adhesive onto the back of the calendar print and center onto your pizza pan.

Make a hanger by cutting a length of jute and double it up to make it sturdier. Thread through a large eye needle. Add the natural wooden beads onto the jute, alternating with the buffalo check wooden beads, through the entire length of the jute. Tie off the end.

Paint the edges of the pizza pan with Moss acrylic paint. Brush some paint onto the edge of the scrapbook paper to cover the edges and add to the rustic look. Repeat with the other two pans.

After the paint is dry, set the calendar print pizza pan on top and center between the other two pizza pans. Make sure to stack them in a way that the overall shape resembles a pumpkin. Hot glue each pan in place. You can also reinforce the hot glue with another adhesive if necessary.

Hot glue the sticks for your stem on the top from the back of your pumpkin. Add extra hot glue to the back to secure the stem. Keep your stem long to be able to attach your bow.

Add some Spanish moss at the base of your stem with hot glue.

Place your ribbon onto your EZ Bow Maker and cut a tail. Make 2 loops and cut another tail. Continue layering coordinating fall ribbons with 2 loops that are the same size, and 2 tails from each ribbon. Add some orange raffia onto the front of your bow, a piece of green mesh ribbon, and finish it off with some orange pom-pom ribbon.

Secure the bow with a zip tie.

Fluff your bow and dovetail the ends.

Turn the pumpkin over to the back to add your hanger. Hot glue the ends towards the top, with plenty of room to hang your piece. Add a little Krazy glue to the hot glue for extra hold. You can cover the ends of the hanger by hot-gluing a small piece of ribbon over it if you’d like.

Turn your pumpkin back to the front side and hot glue your bow into the base of your stem. Cover the zip tie with some orange pom-pom ribbon for the finishing touch!

There you go! You have such an adorable new fall decor to hang on your front door! I love how easy it was to make this DIY Dollar Tree pumpkin decor out of pizza pans! Hope you did too!
