Blank Welcome Mat – Ikea has the best price ones but you can find some here
Freezer Paper
Hey Pumpkin SVG- you can find many on Etsy
Acrylic Paint or Outdoor Paint
This project requires having a cutting machine such as a Cricut or Silhouette. You simply cut your design out directly on the freezer paper. It’s important you use freezer paper, not parchment or wax paper.
Once you have your design cut, you place it on the welcome mat and iron the paper directly to the mat. I used a Cricut Easy Press but you can use an iron without water, too. Hold down the press for about 30-60 seconds. You are heating up the paper to where it will stick on the mat, similar to an adhesive stencil.
Once your paper is adhered to the mat, you will use a stencil brush and a lot of paint. This technique isn’t one that you will offload the paint. You want to have sufficient paint on the brush because the mat will soak it in. Take your time, but I have no doubt you can do this too! Leave me a comment if you have made your own Fall welcome mat!
