I’m excited to share with you my adorable furry gnome! She has everything that I love,  pink fur, some bling, and the most adorable and fashionable boots.  She looks like she would be difficult to put together, but she really isn’t. I’ll walk you step by step so you can DIY your own.

Supplies you will need TO MAKE YOUR OWN FURRY GNOME

  • Sock (Dollar Tree)
  • Rice
  • Hat ( it’s really a headband from Dollar Tree)
  • Wool yarn
  • Boots (Walmart)
  • Wooden Nose found on Amazon

LET’S diy

To make the hat I took apart the headband, which left me with just the cute hat.  I sprayed it with adhesive glue, my favorite brand is Gorilla Adhesive you can find it here. The next step is to unravel your yarn and wrap it around the hat, spreading the yarn out making sure to cover all the red. There you’re done with the hat!

The body of our furry gnome is next, I use a sock and filled it with rice. Quick tip – put your rice in the freezer to kill any bacteria that may form later. I put the sock in a cup to help me fill the sock up easier.

Make sure to put in enough rice so that your body is proportional to the boots.  Fill with rice, and tie it off with a rubber band. Attach the body to those adorable boots using hot glue!

Now the fun part! Let’s add the fur! I used pink fur but you can use anything you like. Spray the back side of the fur, lay your sock body on top and wrap the fur around to secure it in place.  How simple was that?

Here’s another gnome I’ve done using just the sock Christmas Gnome .

We are almost to the finish line

Attach the hat to the body, attach the nose right below the hat, and that’s it! I added some embellishments for more cuteness!

Now the arms are optional, but just as simple to make.

Supplies needed

  • 1 felt ball
  • Felt – any color
  • Pipe cleaner

Simply cut a piece of felt  to the size you need.  Cut the felt ball into quarters. Lay pipe cleaner and 1/4 of the felt ball down so you know the length you need for the sleeve.

Place the felt ball at the end of the pipe cleaner and glue them together.

Then all you do is cut the felt wide enough to cover the pipe cleaner and part of the felt ball.  You want to make is look like she has cute mittens on.  Glue the felt using Tacky glue, which is the best glue for felt.

All you need to do now is cut the sleeve in the shape of a  “shoulder”.

Once you have done that you can attach the sleeves to your furry gnome.  Now for the final touch, the coco cup, I literally used clay and shaped a cup , let it dry and then attached it in to the mittens. This came out so cute!
