Sunflower Wreath DIY

When I see sunflowers, it reminds me of the end of summer, fading into fall at my aunt’s house. She had the most beautiful garden with gorgeous, tall, bright yellow sunflowers. They make me so happy. And I love how they are beautiful in summer and into the fall season, too.
This beautiful wreath with sunflowers takes me right back to the good old days. Do you have a flower that does that for you too? If you happen to love sunflowers as much as I do, then I think we can be good crafting friends. But also, I think you are going to love this step-by-step tutorial where I teach how to make this super cute DIY wreath with sunflowers in less than an hour.
I am not a professional wreath maker, but I had a lot of fun creating this DIY decor. You will too! Grab your supplies and let’s get started!
SUPPLIES NEEDED TO MAKE YOUR OWN SUNFLOWER WREATH:

- Grapevine Wreath
- Bushel of Sunflowers
- Dollar Tree Wood Sign
- Waverly Acrylic Paint – color Plaster
- Gingham HTV – Expressions Vinyl
- Weeding tool
- Heat Press
- Floral Wire
- Raffia
- Hot Glue Gun
- Wire Cutters
- Puppy Pads
How to make a Sunflower Wreath:
2 – Begin weeding your “Welcome” from your Gingham HTV vinyl you previously cut from your Cricut machine. Tip* Be creative with your choice of wording. Use your last name, Hello Fall, anything at all.
3 – Carefully apply on your dry wooden sign and adhere to your heat press. Press down firmly before beginning to remove your backing. Set aside.
4 – Bring your Grapevine over. Look at where it rests best to get the prettiest visual for your project. Tip* Use your embellishments to help disguise the imperfections of your grapevines where you can.
5 – Bring over your sunflowers and trim some stems from the main bundle. Use wire cutters and keep the length to begin.
6 – Begin working your stems, one by one, into the grapevine. Add as many florals into your wreath to your liking. Dip the stems into hot glue to help add security. Weave floral wire around as well.
7 – Secure your wooden “Welcome” sign with floral wire using the tiny little holes already there. Work them through your grapevine to make them nice and tight. Hot glue as well directly on your grapevine.

8 – Create some Raffia bows to hide the floral wire that is peeking through your wood. Hot glue in place.
9 – Hot glue a couple of tiny sunflowers right into the center of your raffia bow to tie the whole look together.
