Dollar Tree finds are such a treat for me. I love when I find simple glass vases like these and with just a few supplies I can turn them into a brand new piece of decor for my home. I am loving this new painting technique where I take acrylic paint and add baking soda to give these glass vases a farmhouse look.
You too can make this DIY textured Dollar Tree vase just check out the steps below.

Steps to make DIY Textured Dollar Tree vase
Step 1 – Prep your vases by stripping the price tags off. You can use your heat gun but be very careful when using it with glass. I also use Goo Gone which can help you get that sticky sticker off the bottom.
Step 2 – With glass make sure to always clean it and use some rubbing alcohol. This will help erase any fingerprints that are left on the vase.
Step 3 – Using Waverly acrylic paint pour some in an old yogurt container with some baking soda. You can do a 1:1 ratio paint to baking soda. Once it thickens and is thick you are set.
Step 4 – Holding your vase by the opening just brush the plaster you just mixed all over your vase evenly. This is so much cooler than just painting it. This gives a more farmhouse look.
Step 5 – Paint the inside of the rim once you have the outside painted. Let it dry and add an additional coat of your paint.
Step 6 – Using a hot glue gun add some glue to the rim and add your jute to get it started. Then continue all the way under the rim. Keep wrapping it around the beck of the vase. This does not need to be perfect just want to make sure you are not showing any white through your jute. Then cut it once you get the desired thickness you prefer. Add a touch of hot glue to secure your cut off point to your vase
