DIY WOOD BISCUIT CHRISTMAS TREE

This DIY Wood Biscuit Christmas tree started off without a plan well, isn’t that how most projects start? In the end I couldn’t have been happier on how it turned out and I’m excited to share with you how you can make one for yourself.

Supplies needed

19×12 Wood Board

Hymnals or Scrapbook paper of your choice

14″ Dollar Tree Christmas Tree

2 bags 75 ct Wood Biscuits size #10 & #20 found AMAZON STORE

Waverly Paint- Color Plaster & Truffle

Dollar Tree Cookie Sheet

Variety of Ribbon

Mod Podge

Let’s get started making this diy wood biscuit Christmas tree

Step 1- Remove the tinsel from the Christmas Tree.

Step 2- Cut the little knobs off the tree – I sprayed painted mine white, but this really isn’t necessary.

Step 3- Prepare your board – I simply applied a coat of Mod Podge. Then I  arranged my hymnals to cover the board. I also used a little of Waverly Truffle to “age” the paper and make it look worn.

Step 4- Using hot glue, attach your Dollar Tree Christmas Tree form to the board, leaving enough room to add a bow and a base

Step 5- Starting from the top I started covering the plastic with the wood biscuits. I used the #20 for the peak of the tree laying down about 2-3 rows. Once I felt the peak looked good, I went down the tree using the #10. I put down a row and then went back and started overlapping the wood biscuits.

Step 6- Dry brush the Waverly paint over the biscuits, use more or less paint, make it to your liking.

Step 7- Make your base – I cut out a square from my Dollar Tree cookie sheet. I bent it up and hot glued it to the board.

Step 8 – Time to pick your ribbons for the topper! I used a variety of ribbons, but my favorite is the pom pom ribbon you can find on my AMAZON STORE under my craft supply list

RIBBONS USED FOR BOW

Step 9 – Make your bow! This year I challenged myself to get better at bows! This is a Re-Fabbed bow which is the easiest bow to make!

That’s how easy it is to make! I would love to know what you think in the comments below! Also, I know life gets busy so make sure you PIN IT for later! If you loved this DIY you may enjoy this one.
