How To Make Your Own Dollar Tree Fall Centerpiece
Let me put in a DISCLAIMER from the start! This fall centerpiece craft has a crazy start involving a blowtorch… yep. You read that right. A blowtorch! Let me teach you to step by step how to get this look for your own Dollar Tree Fall Decor Centerpiece using beautiful florals, greenery, a cheap basket, and a DIY bow! With the right color scheme, you can create this Fall basket in less than an hour. And I will be honest, the blowtorch thing is pretty crazy!
So if you are not feeling it, use a different technique. (I have taught you many before, wink wink.) The best part of this craft is that you can keep your basket base and switch out your florals for more spring colors. I love this look! Don’t you? Grab your supplies and let’s get ready for Fall together!
SUPPLIES NEEDED TO MAKE YOUR OWN DOLLAR TREE FALL CENTERPIECE Decoration:
- Basket – Target Dollar Spot
- Sunflowers Bundle – Michael’s
- Fall Florals (assortments) – Dollar Tree
- Greenery bundles
- Grass/Wheat stems
- Blowtorch
- Newspaper
- Foam blocks
- Moss
- Ribbons of all sizes – Fall colors
- Rafia
- Jute
- Hot Glue Gun
- Wire Cutters
- Scissors
- Puppy Pads
STEPS:
1 – Grab your basket, your blowtorch, and a squirt bottle. Be sure that you are outside to keep things 100% safe. STAY SAFE Y’ALL!!!! This is a crazy technique, but I love the style of it! Such a fun way to add some character to this natural basket. Tip* You can easily keep this basket as is and still have an adorable Fall Centerpiece. You could even use the wax and paint technique to add a little more character to it too. Just be creative, and safe!
2 – Since my basket is deep, add some newspapers to raise the base inside your basket. Tip* Your basket may not need this.
3 – Next add some foam blocks to fill the inside of your basket.
4 – Grab your Sunflower bundle and trim from the main bundle with wire cutters. Determine the height that works best for your basket.

5 – Begin inserting your sunflowers into the foam blocks, focusing more on the center of your basket. Tip* You can dip the ends in hot glue for a little more security. But if you plan to switch out your florals for a different season, do not glue. 6 – Next, begin working some of your florals into the foam. Fill in around your sunflowers. Eyeball placement and have fun with it. Play with your colors and height as you insert. Remember to rotate the basket, so it is pretty from all sides to sit on your dining room table.
7 – Work in your greenery of all shades, wheat stems, grass picks, and olive branches to hide your foam base. Play with placement, checking for aesthetics. Tip* Continue to rotate as you work your pieces in.
8 – Depending on the size of your baskets, will determine the number of florals, greenery, and fillers needed.

9 – To hide your foam base, grab your moss. Begin stuffing it in on your foam and maneuver where needed. Tip* I add it after the florals because working your stems through the moss into the foam is tough.
11 – Grab your sunflower ribbon and layer it in to have as many loops as you want. Cinch it with the jute.
12 – Add your next layer of ribbon to coordinate with your colors, going narrower for each layer of ribbon as you add. Add as many as you like. Continue to cinch in the center and tie together with your jute.
13 – Add some raffia to add a fun texture to your bow.

The colors of Fall are so stinking and beautiful. The ability to transform a space in your home with just the use of reds, yellows, oranges, and browns, is pretty amazing to me. This DIY Dollar Tree Fall Decor Centerpiece cost me about $30 to make. But I promise it is worth it to DIY it, instead of buying it.
Why you might ask? Well, because this beauty would easily sell for $75-$100 on Etsy. I am not into spending that amount of money, but I am into making my own decor that looks like it costs that much.
