Make Your Own Dollar Tree Wooden Bead Christmas Ornaments
I have many loves. Just to name a few…children, husband, home on wheels, my job, and my hobbies. I just really love to craft and create new things because it keeps my mind busy and off all my hectic, and sometimes, crazy work-life, wife-life, mom-life, everyday-life. To keep my craft supplies stocked up I love to shop at Dollar Tree because I don’t want to spend a lot of money. I always find a lot of cute budget-friendly craft supplies and bring them home to ponder what exactly I can make out of them. This last trip I was able to stock up on some fabulous Dollar Tree shower rings. Driving home it came to my mind to make some cute wooden bead Christmas ornaments for my tree since all my decorations are packed away.
If you do not have any of these yet in your craft supply you are going to want to run not walk to your nearest store and grab a few bags. You can make such the cutest things using these beads. Remember my 3D Dollar Tree wooden beads pumpkin? Can we just both agree it was SOOO cute!!
These adorable DIY Dollar Tree Wooden Bead Christmas Ornaments will be the talk of your tree this year. Just you wait! With a cute printable I am sharing with you, some shower rings from Dollar Tree, a bit of hot glue, and a few other little embellishments, you can make a set of these in no time. These are so simple, it would be fun to do with little kids. So invite those grandkids over, your children, and their neighborhood friends, or even this will be perfect for a girl’s night in.
SUPPLIES:
- Dollar Tree Shower Curtain Rings – DOLLAR TREE
- Christmas Circular Printable – link below
- Scotch Self-Seal Laminating Pouches
- Red and white Craft rope/twine
- Rub n Buff (optional)
- Wooden Beads
- Makeup sponge
- Mod Podge
- Large Sewing Needle
- Scissors
- Hot glue
STEPS:
1 – Grab your Dollar Tree clear shower curtain rings. If you like you could paint them but I chose to keep this one clear. Set aside.
2 – With your printable below, insert the entire page into one of your laminating pouches. Press firmly. Tip* – Read directions on the product to make sure you place your design side facing the correct way.
3 – Once adhered to, choose one image to create your first ornament step by step. With a rough cut, just get it separated from the main bundle of Christmas images. Once easier to work with, carefully cut along the outer circle of the printable.
4 – Grab your Mod Podge and add a tiny bit to the lid, or a little bowl. Remove the plastic laminating pouch layer on top of the image. Carefully dab on a bit of the Mod Podge on the image. Replace the plastic laminating circle on top and press firmly to secure. Tip* – You do not need a lot!
5 – Grab your shower ring add a bit of your red and white string. With a piece of the string, about 10” long, fold it in half so the loop folds over the center can of your shower ring. Insert the two ends of the string and pull tight. This will hold in place on the closure section of your shower ring.
6 – Add a thin layer of hot glue around the outer edge of your laminated circular image. Place the shower ring on top, with your strings at the very top so your ornament will hang nice and straight. Press firmly.
7- With those strings, weed your Dollar Tree shower rings with wooden beads by using a large sewing needle. I added 3 alternating styles to match my Christmas decor. Tie tight directly at the end of your wooden beads to hold them in place.
8 – Tie another knot at the ends of your strings to form a loop so your adorable new ornament can hang beautifully from the tree.
9 – To add one more layer of cuteness, grab one of your mini red bows. Hot glue them right in place over the section connecting your shower curtain ring together. Hot glue some mini holly berries right in the center of your bow too!
10 – Repeat these simple steps for your set of adorable, personalized, Christmas DIY Dollar Tree Ornaments.
